The Shop

Diamante Azul Decor is located opposite the marina of the city of Figueira da Foz and is inserted in the Casa do Paço, a building classified as of Public Interest, more specifically, in the old stables and warehouses.
Here, locals and holidaymakers since the 1970s have been buying decorative, handicraft and household items that always follow the current trend.

Shop History

Diamante Azul Decor is adjacent to Ourivesaria Diamante Azul, the original location of this goldsmith. Today, in Diamante Azul Decor, we can see traces of the old activity, since they still preserve the original floor of the time, from 1946, in white marble with black frame and the exhibition furniture, in noble wood, being used today as a showcase of the items for sale.
On the wall in front of the stairs leading to the 1st floor, we also have the presence of an image of Our Lady, on a small wooden corbel, where Sebastião Coelho de Carvalho, the founder of the goldsmith’s shop, placed flowers every day. Such was his devotion that, when he later transferred the goldsmith’s shop to the new space, he took the care of creating a second niche there. It should be noted that the jewellery shop opened its doors on the day of Our Lady’s Assumption, 15th August.
Also inside, on the 1st floor, the vaulted ceiling can still be seen, dating from the end of the 17th century.
For over four decades, this shop has been selling decorative items, handicrafts, crockery and domestic utilities in retail, giving preference to Portuguese creators, being one of the best known places by the Figueirense community to obtain this type of products, continuing to serve many of the families that have visited it since the beginning of its activity.
