Ourivesaria da Praça is located in the Municipal Market, inaugurated on 21st September 1952. However, Ourivesaria da Praça only opened in early 1966.

Shop History

The Ourivesaria da Praça (Goldsmith’s Shop in Praça), located in the
Municipal Market, began on 2nd January 1966, and was founded by
Joaquim Simões Veloso. In the beginning, the difficulties were great, but with persistence and hard work, the business was prospering, and Ourivesaria da Praça gained the trust of the customers. The descendants of Joaquim Veloso are proud of this path, due to the seriousness and helpful way in which the founder always served his customers.
In 1985, by decision of the owner and founder, the company name was
changed in order to include the family and to facilitate the continuity of
the business, which he tried to keep as a family.
