The Shop

"Pastelaria Império"(“Império” Pastry Shop) has been a reference space in "Bairro Novo" since 1945 and started as a branch of the "Coimbra" pastry shop in Rua da Sofia, the only one that still exists today.

Shop History

In 1945, the "Pastelaria Império" opened in the most prestigious neighborhood in the city of Figueira da Foz, and remains today as one of the city’s renowned pastry shops.
The current owner, Ângela Faim, has been working in this pastry since she was 15 years old and on 1st June, 2002 she became the owner of this establishment. Before, this space used to cross the building on Rua Bernardo Lopes and Rua Académico Zagalo, with connection to “Império Bar”. However, with the change of management, these two buildings were divided.
The "Pastelaria Império" preserves a decorative environment that reminds us of the times of its foundation, while the original scale and cash register are still in use.
The house symbol is recognized by all and stands out for its typical landmark, the crown with the initials IP, in the streets of "Bairro Novo".
