Within the scope of the "Commerce with History" project, it is the responsibility of each municipality to recognize the establishments or entities recognized as of historical, cultural or social interest.
To that end, each municipality applies the general criteria for recognition, provided by Law no. 42/2017, of June 14, or approves its own Municipal Recognition Regulation, pursuant to article 5 of the Law.
These regulations, when existing, may be consulted on the website of the Municipality of the area in which the establishment or entity is located, as well as the terms in which the application is made.
Establishments and entities of historical and cultural or social interest where recognized and included in the National Inventory of Commerce with History may access benefits or tax exemptions to be granted by municipalities, in accordance with the legislation in force.
