Shop History
Founded in 1840, the Paramentaria Vasconcelos, originally called José da Silva Pereira de Vasconcelos, had its first headquarters on Rua de Santa Margarida.
The book of honour lists illustrious visitors such as King D. Luís and D. Maria Pia, D. Carlos and D. Amélia, who praised the perfection of the establishment.
In 1910, the shop was located in Rua do Souto, with 7 weaving looms operating for the manufacture of vestments and silk fabrics for religious use. The life of the factory went through crises as well as golden periods, conquering another market in the world of silks, that of fabrics for decoration.
Even after the deactivation of its looms, the history of Paramentaria Vasconcelos continues. Chasubles, copes and palliums continue to be its items of excellence.
