Coimbra’s "Loja das Meias" store was founded on 16th of November 1931 and its history is naturally intertwined with the history of the city of Coimbra. The place where it is located, in the middle of downtown Coimbra, which was for centuries the spontaneous pulsing stage of the city, contributes to make the "Loja das Meias" part of the scenario of major events of the city, including political, social and religious events.
Throughout its existence, there were several political and artistic figures, businessmen and personalities of the city who became customers of the shop, making it a mandatory stopping point in downtown Coimbra".
