Next to Sintra train station is Café Elite. Welcoming those arriving in Sintra since 1937, this space is a meeting point for tourists, residents and people who work in this village. Offering cafeteria service and small meals in this space, Café Elite maintains the tradition and assumes itself as a historic landmark of local sintrense commerce.

Shop History

Open since 1937, Café Elite is part of local history. It was around this time that the first car in the municipality of Sintra was exhibited in this space, which led to large pilgrimages from the saloia area.
It is also said that during World War II the establishment always had its curtains closed, as inside it was common to find Jews coming from various parts of Europe, as refugees.
Since the 1980s, this has become one of the main points of the Santa Casa Games, selling lotery tickets, also maintaining to this day the tradition of welcoming those who arrive in Sintra by rail.
