Shop History

The Casa dos Neves was born in 1965, in the segment of the sale of fabrics by metro. The quality of its products earned them recognition and they bet on the sale of confectionery, at a time when there were practically no ready-to-wear shops. Soon after, they bet on their own clothing, with a registered trademark, and became a ready-to-wear space for women, men and children. The fame of the establishment grew and besides the customers of Porto, many came from various areas of the north of the country. The current owner states that on Saturdays, authentic pilgrimages of entire families were seen, looking for the right clothes for all kinds of ceremonies. It was precisely in the ceremonies that the Casa das Neves stood out and continues to stand out, having dressed brides, grooms, children in their first communions and, currently, finalists from the different school cycles. Maintaining its original identity, keeping its customers abreast of textile trends, due to constant contact with international fairs and the main fashion centres, they have been renewing and updating both their commercial practices and their space to meet the needs of the different periods of time they have been through. This renewal is also visible in their customers, once children brought by their parents and now entering the shop as parents, also bringing their children.
