Shop History

The establishment "Casa Lima" began its activity in 1877 by Augusto Pereira de Lima and remained open to the public on an ongoing basis. At the beginning of activity, he dedicated himself to the industry and trade of walking sticks and umbrellas. He has been in the same family for 5 generations. Currently the management of the company is in the hands of great-grandfather Francisco Luis de Lima Alves de Souto. In Rua de Sta. Catarina, the establishment opened its doors in 1909. Initially it has two storefronts and was modernized in the 50’s, passing to a type of unique showcase, quite innovative at the time. In the 60s, with the management of the owner, Jorge Pereira de Lima, the store had a great success being a "Chic" establishment of the city. She sold mainly lady’s bags, gloves and umbrellas, which has kept other products up to date. Today it has 3 commercial establishments in downtown Porto.
