The Shop

Caravela, as it is known, is part of the city’s heritage throughout its history and
framing. It is a tourist reference with supra-municipality impact. your products
traditional products are sought after by customers from all over the country. Own manufactured products such as
Ice creams are also ordered by the kilo and for customers in the most diverse locations. The cup,
self-made drink is, as is said, partly in jest, the official drink of the
Torres Vedras Carnival. Also during the Christmas period, several groups come together to get together around the cup.

Shop History

Founded in 1957 by the godfathers of the current operators, they set up a business originating from
Rua da Palma in Lisbon (establishment that no longer exists) with another partner also present
at the now extinct Feira Popular de Lisboa, which was dedicated to the sale of Traditional and Cup Ice Creams,
which in the case of the Feira Popular accompanied the abundance. Even today, they are reference products from
Caravela Ice Cream. At the beginning of the 60s, the offer expanded to grocery products. Emphasis
to the cellar, sausages and cheeses carefully selected in a list of
quality/price, along with the manufacture of traditional ice cream and drinks with our own recipe,
“cup”. Activities that it currently maintains with the same characteristics at the disposal of
products and structural components inside the establishment.
