Shop History

JUNI – Jovens Unidos num Ideal, founded on January 29, 1971, is a non-profit association linked to the Parish of Santa Marinha da Costa. Its main objectives are the promotion, among its members and non-members, of physical education and sports, also providing them with means of culture and recreation.
Located in the parish of Costa it covers a densely populated medium urban area, due to its proximity and docking to the city of Guimarães itself, being the territorial part closest to the municipality that concentrates most of its inhabitants, with its lower area, located on the slope of Penha Mountain.
The physical heritage consists of a sports complex with three swimming pools, a field with open air synthetic grass and changing rooms, a bar, a children’s playground, athletics track and a wooded grass area.
JUNI was founded by twelve young people, as the twelve other apostles, who brought the message to meet joy, fun, culture, conviviality and fraternity. From these bases and this enthusiasm was launched a great start: "Work ensures associative stability". Children, young people, adults, in short, the whole population, more cohesive, braver, and more confident, launched itself in the realization of this unique work, because it was with the work of all, day and night, that it was done. Therefore, the JUNI Sports Park could be called the "PARK OF HEROES", and its story, the "story of wisdom and prudence".
