LMR Lda, Fábrica das Velas is a store as well as a workshop. It sells candles for religious purposes, but also decorative candles and other types o candles. The shop has a unique style due to the huge amount o candles hanging from the ceiling.

Shop History

The LMR, Lda., Fábrica das Velas has been functioning for 124 years now. It was established as a candle factory in the 19th century by the grand-uncle of the current owner. The knowledge and techniques concerning the candle production have been passed from one generation to the next, as stated by Luís Rocha, the current manager of the business.
The store produces artisanal candles of paraffin. It is said these are the most sought after candles, made by the traditional method of “mergulho”.
