Mundo dos Tecidos is a reference in the market for selling fabrics per meter, standing out for the diversity of the offer available to its customers. It is possible to find more common fabrics such as cottons, linens or chintz, as well as, more unique ones such as lycra for swimsuits or fabrics for making figure skating and dance costumes, sequin fabrics, lace, embroidery, organza, denim, terrycloth, synthetic leather or cork, among others. The offer follows the fashion and decoration seasons (spring/summer; autumn/winter) and is aimed at specific celebrations, such as Carnival, New Year’s Eve, school year end parties, shows and even ceremonies such as communions, baptisms or weddings.
The diversity of products also brings a diverse clientele. In addition to private customers, they are sought after by professional seamstresses and dressmakers, fashion designers, theaters, artistic schools and nurseries, to whom they sell fabrics for making wardrobes and sets.

Shop History

Mundo dos Tecidos opened its doors in 1987, at Rua Fernandes Tomás, nº 849 and 851, owned by the company Deolinda Martins & Irmãos Lda, made up of the brothers Manuela Marques Martins, Fernando Jorge Marques Martins and Deolinda Marques Martins.
To these days, the management of the company stayed in the same family.
