The Shop

The Ourivesaria Diamante Azul is located opposite the marina of the city of Figueira da Foz and is located on the ground floor of the Casa do Paço, a 17th -18th century property, classified as Property of Public Interest.
In this establishment full of history we can find fashion accessories and traditional articles in gold and other precious metals, giving preference to collections of Portuguese stylists/designers and craftsmen, with the concern of creating moods and emotions that last in the memory of the customers.
The Ourivesaria Diamante Azul, since 1946 to the present day, continues to be a reference for its location, antiquity and the style of products and the possibility of creating personalized pieces and the ideals of honesty and professionalism, continuing to serve the same families over several generations.

Shop History

The Ourivesaria Diamante Azul was founded on August 15, 1946, the day of the Assumption of Our Lady, with Sebastião Coelho de Carvalho and his son Carlos de Carvalho, beginning a long commercial and family journey that already has seven decades, and is currently being managed by the 3rd generation of this family.
The establishment began by occupying the space where currently stands the Diamante Azul Decor, still with the original floor of the time, in white marble with black frame which shows us the original space of the goldsmith’s shop. In the 70’s, the goldsmith moves its space to the adjoining door number where it still is.
The oldest employee of the jewellery shop, Mrs. Lina, remembers how every summer, Spanish customers used to queue up to be attended by Mr. Sebastian, whom they called Don Sebastian, and how they refused to be attended by the employees, who tried not to lose sight of the jewellery they were trying on and passing from hand to hand.
Even today, the pieces of goldsmithery, jewellery and watchmaking are displayed on the furniture from the 1970s. They still preserve the storage furniture, the safe and all the accessories needed for the activity, such as the first scales used for weighing gold.
The Ourivesaria Diamante Azul continues to be a reference for its location, antiquity and style of products and the possibility of creating custom pieces and for the ideals of honesty and professionalism, continuing to serve the same families over several generations.
