Shop History

The history of Carvalho Bakery dates back to the 1940s, when the current
owner’s grandfather acquired the Trindade Bakery, in the Trindade
building, in D. Maria II Square, in Famalicão. With the industrial development in the area of Joane, Mr. Carvalho decided to sell the bakery in Famalicão and settle in that town, acquiring the only existing bakery there, the Felizarda Bakery, located in the current building of Carvalho Bakery, founded in 1982. With a baggage of 7 decades, the 3rd generation of the Carvalho family continues to explore new types of products, especially differentiated breads, breads with healthy prolonged fermentation, etc. and in this sense, in 2014 opened the second establishment, in the parish of Vermoim.
