The Shop

The commercial space, opened in 1950, had few changes to both the exterior and interior. The storefront still maintains the original design and has a small covering of modern tiles, from the mid-20th century. The front of the store is proudly covered in plants, one of the items that can be purchased.

Shop History

Opened on August 30, 1950, Pichelaria Moderna is one of the oldest establishments still in operation in the city. At the end of the 1970s, the establishment was acquired by three partners, one of whom was the father of the current owner. In addition to plumbing and toilet installation services, Pichelaria Moderna began by having its own workshop for the production of tinwork items, such as sufflating machines and perforating pumps.

Since its opening in 1950, the features of the commercial space have changed, as have the types of products.At its beginnings the space’s main activity was the installation and maintenance of plumbing, but nowadays the main focus is the sale of products related to gardens, plants and pots, water heating, etc.
