Fourth generation of Vimaranense watchmakers, the Watchmaker of S. Gualter is a reference in the art of watches in Guimarães. One of the remarkable moments in the history of watchmaking is linked to the installation of the clock in St. Peter’s Church in 1938. The technicians responsible for installing the watch sought help in Guimarães and it was the mastery and art of the Silva family that helped in the installation.
