A Chinese restaurant of reference in the city of Porto, it keeps on its menu the dishes that are most sought after in King-Long and much appreciated by regular customers: duck with orange, shrimp and duck chop suey, fried ice cream, among other Chinese delicacies.

Shop History

The founder of King-Long Restaurant, Chow Horng Tzer, is a renowned entrepreneur, with recognition in both Portugal and China. He received the rank of Commander by the President of the Portuguese Republic, in 2007; a Commendation for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, in 2012; he is founder and first President of the League of Chinese in Portugal; and he was President of the Commercial and Industrial Association of Chinese in Portugal. It all started when, in 1973, he rented a space in order to create an exquisite atmosphere, decorating it with Chinese motifs, so that it could be recognized as a first class restaurant. This is how the Long-Long Restaurant was born, receiving the distinction in its first year of opening. The founder gave it to his son, Y Ping Chow, as a wedding gift, in 1974. It maintains its original decoration, of which the Dragon’s mural painting stands out, and which has remained since the opening. It has exhibited some distinctions, both from the Portuguese State and from the Porto City Council, as well as from certified entities in the tourism and catering area. It was awarded the 15th International Award for Tourist, Hotel and Catering Industry, in Madrid, in 1990. This restaurant is recommended by the Chinese Government to all the great figures of China’s political and business society who visit the city of Porto, both for leisure and business.
