The Shop

A Vencedora, a framing, mirrors, and glass installation shop, began its activity at Martim Moniz No. 38 in 1875. With the demolition works carried out in the 1940s and 1950s, which later gave way to Praça Martim Moniz, the establishment, was relocated in 1952 to Rua de São Lázaro, number 131 and 133. although, this date is considered for calculating the store’s longevity, the company has been in operation for 149 years. It is currently owned by José dos Santos, Jorge dos Santos, and Maria dos Santos, heirs of the business.

Shop History

As one of the few remaining stores in the city with direct access to public space, offering made-to-order and custom-sized frames and glass installation services, as well as gilding work. This establishment holds significant importance in the city’s commercial history, having been in business for approximately 149 years. It is most likely the oldest shop in its sector.
